Greetings Everyone,
Well, a lot has changed since my last email. You'll notice that the newsletter has a new look to it, it now more closely matches my new website dedicated solely to my landscape work and new workshops, but more on them in a second. I also have a new logo that is design around one of my images Beauty Divide. I hope you like the changes.
Spring is here, finally! I know it may not feel like it in some places but here in California flowers are filled with color, the rivers are flowing with winter runoff and the smell of photography is in the air. I'll be out and about photographing as much as possible and just spending as much time as I can outdoors. I hope you'll find spring soon where you live too if you haven't already.
Happy Spring,
Edward Mendes May 2009

New Website, Finally!
You know, I've been thinking about creating a new and separate website dedicated solely to my landscape work for a long time. Finally a couple of months ago I decided to stop thinking about it and just do it. So, after two months of web designing its finally finished. The site will act as a place to find all things landscape photography, at least as it pertains to me. I have portfolios of my work, workshop information, information for interior designers and consultants and much more. When you have a chance please log on and check it out, and let me know if you see any spelling errors hiding out, they're hard little buggers to find sometimes. Thank you in advance and I hope you like the site.

Upcoming Workshops

I have a number of workshops lined up for 2010 and I couldn't be more excited about them. I've designed my workshop series to be informative and fun and to do so in some of the most awe inspiring places in the world. I'm limited the size of the workshops to just 8 participates each, this will ensure that each person will receive personal attention, both in the field and in the classroom. The days will be filled with, classroom sessions, image critiques, numerous field sessions, laughter, and an opportunity to make some new photo friends.
The workshops all take place on the weekends, Friday thru Sunday and are priced at only $295. This is a great opportunity to hone your photographic skills and do so in the most picturesque places on earth.
2010 Workshop Locations
- Yosemite in the Winter
- The Big Sur Coast of California
- Yosemite in the Spring
- Mono Lake and the Eastern Sierras in the Fall
- In addition I offer private workshops year around at a number of beautiful locations.
If you'd like to sign-up for a workshop or find more information about them you can visit the workshop page of my website or you can always give me a call if you'd prefer to speak to a real person (me), 209-541-1815.

Call for Entries!
Here is a photography competition that I thought some of you photographers out there may be interested in. The Photographers' gallery in Modesto California is a non-profit organization that helps support photography throughout the California Central Valley. The gallery is having its first in what promises to be an annual juried photography contest and show. Winners will have their work published in the gallery calender, be awarded prize money and have their image(s) featured in a gallery show at the end of 2009, to coincide with the release of the calendar.
In addition, well respected landscape photographer Jennifer Wu will be one of the judges.
Entries are being accepted now and will continue until June 1st, 2009. For more information head on over to the gallery's website.
In the spirit of "Full Disclosure", I do live near the gallery and I try to help the gallery as much as I can, that includes helping with this show. Just so you know.

New Releases - 2009 Collection

I've been busy over the last year creating new work and also getting around to working with some of my images from recent trips. After many months of shooting, editing, adjusting and printing I am proud to announce my new releases for 2009. As a whole I think these images represent some of my strongest works to date, from bold and strong pieces to ones that focus more on the serenity of the world around us, my 2009 collection has a little bit of everything.
