Workshop Testimony

I had an amazing time and learned more than I ever though possible.
- Robert Criss, The Expressive Landscape Print Workshop

I definitely learned some new skills on how to enhance my Landscape photos....just what I had hoped for.  Ed was personable and easy to understand.  It was a Saturday morning well spent.
- Elleene Stone, The Expressive Landscape Print

One of the most beautiful places in the world and Ed knows all the spots.  More than I could have ever hoped for.
- Ken Mitchell, The Big Sur Coast Workshop

This was my second time taking one of Edward's workshops and it won't be my last.  Edward is a wonderful teacher and always willing to help...even weeks after the workshop is over, thanks!
- Susan Gamino, Yosemite in the Spring

I've been a photographer for over 30 years and I've never had such an enjoyable experience as a photographer.
- Frank Leon, Yosemite in the Spring

I learned more in one day than I had in the last 5 years, I'm working on images in a whole new way.  On top of it all I met a lot of wonderful people, including Ed.
- Ted Crooker, The Expressive Landscape Print Workshop

I've attended many workshops in the past and this one was the best.  The image critique session alone was worth every penny but add in the lessons, fieldwork and location...WOW!
- Michael Rugg, The Big Sur Coast Workshop

I was blown away by the amount of effort Ed puts into the workshop, from the workbook, to the personal attention...He's (Edward) is an open book and always available.
- Debbie Belyeu, The Expressive Landscape Print Workshop

The best time I've ever had with a camera!
- Sue Ann Long, The Big Sur Coast Workshop

The workshop helped me see Yosemite for more than just the waterfalls and Half Dome so I could create images that show the soul of the park.  This is something I'll take with me for the rest of my life.
- Tom Zuccari, Yosemite in the Spring Workshop

Yosemite In Winter Photography Workshop
Experience Yosemite as few do!  Winter in Yosemite National Park is a truly special time of year, the crowds all but gone and you can often walk the snow filled meadows of the Valley in almost complete solitude.  The workshop is timed for the peak of winter in Yosemite, snow will be covering the valley and with a little luck a winter storm will dust the trees with white as we start our days.  The workshop is also scheduled for us to have an opportunity to capture the famed Fire Falls!

Topics Covered:

  • How to get the right exposure even in the snow
  • Composing a creative image
  • Depth of Field in the Landscape
  • How to start to "See the Light"

What is Included

  • 2 Days of In Field Instruction in Yosemite NP
  • Written Workshop material featuring detailed description of equipment for the workshop and technical hints and tips
  • Informal Critique and Discussion of your work during evening meeting

What You'll Need:

  • Digital or Film SLR Camera
  • Sturdy Tripod
  • Lens covering a range of at least 28mm to 300mm (The longer the better to capture Fire Falls)
  • A selections of filters

Limited to: Just 8 participates

WHAT TO EXPECT: Morning light tends to take a little bit longer to reach Yosemite Valley because of the high cliffs that surround it, so a typical day starts with a not too early morning shoot, followed by breakfast back at one of the park's restaurants. Depending on weather conditions the afternoon will be spent in the field or indoors with class sessions discussing photography technique, theory or critiques followed by a bit of free time in the late afternoon before heading out for a sunset shoot.  Dinner follows then either a critique session or free time to work one the day's images, depending on how the afternoon went..  While the days are long they're filled with one-on-one instruction and critique sessions that you can apply immediately in the field.

Lodging and meals are not included with the workshop, however a local lodging guide and recommendations are included in the workshop's workbook that you'll receive after sign-up.  Also, professional travel assistance can be provided by Mary Jane at Ceres World Travel.
