Winter 2010 - Snow, Snow, Snow!
I'm a little late in doing my winter update, at this point spring is right around the corner, but later late than never right? 2010 has started out with a bang, my workshops are going very well as they continue to sell out, in fact I just finished my "Winter in Yosemite" workshop a couple of weeks ago. We had a great time and I was lucky, as I always am, to have a wonderful group of photographers.
The image on the right is one of my newest, taken in late January just after a week of snow fell on Yosemite Valley. There were a lot of photographers in Yosemite this particular Saturday morning, I guess everyone was excited after the big snow storms. Because of so many shutterbugs my top two choices for creating a sunset image wasn't going to happen as there was too many people in the area. I needed to find a new location for the setting sun, I spotted this area earlier in the day and decided to give it a try. I was taken by the snow-caped trees and sunlit meadow at the foot of El Captain and even though I almost froze my toes off standing in the snow for almost an hour as I watched the light change I'm glad I did.
**2010 Workshops**
My 2010 workshop schedule is up and official, at least in terms of my in-the-field workshops. We'll be heading to some of the most photographic places in the world, Yosemite National Park, The Big Sur Coast and Mono Lake in the Eastern Sierras. These areas are known for their beauty, which is why they've been a favorite subject for photographers such as Ansel Adams, Edward Weston and many more. You can find information regarding them on the workshops page. I'm keeping the groups small and the cost low to make them beneficial for everyone. Please feel free to give me some feedback, I'd love to hear it.
**New Mini Prints**
I also have some new mini print that I think are really cool, and wallet friendly! They are open edition prints designed to be a great way to start a collection at a great price. The prints come in both 4x5 and 8x10 sizes and are matted to either 8x10 or 16x20 depending on the print size. I have more information about the mini prints here.
